Dr June Perkins is a multi-arts creative born to a Papua New Guinean Indigenous mother and Australian father. She was raised in Tasmania as a Bahá'i and combines poetry, blogging, photography, story and more to explore themes interesting her - peace, ecology, spirituality, cultural diversity, resilience and empowerment.
She says, "I advocate the powers of poetry and encourage unity in diversity in the Australian, Baha'i and Pasifika literary landscapes and find the people and natural landscapes of Queensland inspiring and fascinating. I have a developing interest in the movement to respectfully invent new Australian fairy tales! New works in development, include two novels and a non fiction book. Illuminations, 19 poems and 1 story is my latest poetry collection."
